Bark Park Reopens - COVID-19 Update

In accordance with Phase 3 of the reopening of Illinois, the Bark Park at Commissioners Park will reopen on Friday, May 29. The Park District thanks you for your patience and cooperation during the Covid Pandemic closures.


Bark Park memberships were set to expire on April 15th. The park closed on March 14, therefore current memberships will be extended through the end of June. New memberships will begin July 1. Registration packets are available online.  Starting June 1, the office hours at the Founders Center, 140 Oak Street, will be 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Annual memberships that are not renewed by July 1st will be deactivated.

To eliminate a gap in memberships, you can submit your application via email to info@Frankfortparks.org


  • Annual Fee: $60 per family – Resident of Frankfort
  • Annual Fee: $65 per family – Non-Resident
  • Renewing members will pay $50 (resident) or $55 (non-resident)
  • If you no longer have your key card, you will need to pay the $10).


The following guidelines for the Bark Park should be adhered to:

  • You or your dog feeling sick? DO NOT enter the dog park.
  • Been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 symptoms? DO NOT enter the dog park.
  • Keep 6 feet distance from others (avoid handshakes and contact with others).
  • Observe current face covering guidelines.
  • Avoid touching or coming in contact with other dogs.
  • Limit contact with high touch equipment in dog park (gates, benches, etc.)
  • Vacate the premises when finished.


Please Note: No public restrooms or water fountains will be available. Come prepared with your own water and hand sanitizer.
